Hi........I'm Joyce Taylor and I live and work in Aberdeenshire in the North East of Scotland.

I studied drawing and painting at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen where I was awarded the Patrick Allan Fraser, Hospitafiled Scholarship at the end of my 3rd year and there began my love of seascape and landscape painting. 

​

I taught Art and Design in secondary schools in Aberdeenshire before taking early retirement from my job as faculty head, in 2018.

​

​I mainly paint seascapes and landscapes of the north east of Scotland and the occasional still life.

​

I also like to find inspiration when travelling and I am naturally drawn to boats and reflections on water, be it the canals of Venice, the harbours of Scotland or the South of France, in particular the area around Collioure and Port Vendres with it's wonderful warm golden light, or the ports in Brittany where the colours are cooler.
