The winding narrow road at Seatown - Gardenstown with the fishermen's cottages right on the edge. Just room to drive along but I have only done that once!

Cote Place- Argeles sur Mer (SOLD)

A quiet cafe terrace in Place de la République in Argeles sur Mer on a very hot summer's day. The same terrace transforms into a market place 2 mornings per week and in the evenings the band plays and locals dance on the polished flagstone floor of the square. I was attracted by the brightly painted houses and the dappled cool shade under the trees. A perfect spot for breakfast or a cool drink in the afternoon.

Harvest - looking towards "Ben Rinnes"

On a clear day in August I was taken with this scene from the Gardenstown road with the distant hills of the Cairngorms. The fields were a patchwork of golden tones with shimmering blues of the hills. Painted in Acrylics on canvas and framed in an ivory coloured wooden frame. Saint Magnus Haven

Saint Magnus Haven is the bay at Pennan in Aberdeenshire. The tiny village nestles at the foot of red sandstone cliffs and to get this view I had to lie near the edge of the cliff. The "local hero" village of Pennan is where my grandmother was born and it is somewhere I return to often. The painting is in acrylic on a deep canvas and framed in an off white tray frame. As storm clouds gathered and the sky darkened they added a feeling of drama to this field of barley. As the storm rolled in I captured this scene near my studio. Amalfi Lemons

These beautiful lemons with their leaves were in my local supermarket and they reminded me of holidays on the Amalfi Coast. I just had to paint them. The blue and white bowl and vintage linen table cloth were perfect in setting up this still life. I have a collection of blue and white vintage china and table cloths which were perfect for the daffodils from my garden.

Silver coffee pot with roses.

I was fascinated by the reflections on this silver coffee pot, some of which are upside down on the concave surface. The roses were a gift from a friend who visited the studio which made this quite a traditional painting. Adding the orange completed this composition.
