I don't normally paint flowers, however I was inspired by these peony roses and watched them open from tiny buds to a week later becoming the most beautiful open flowers with fluffy yellow centres. I added lilies and placed them on the studio table and knew right away I needed to paint them. Peonies have such a short season, take a week to open and once open last only a few days but they are worth the wait. Acrylic on canvas. Framed in a white wooden floating canvas frame.
